Preemie Dolls

For Christmas, Mom made Laura and Katie dolls that are the size that they each were at birth.  The pattern she used is sizable for all gestations from 12 weeks through the end of pregnancy, and is available on-line here.  Kim, from Remember Me Preemie, makes and sells these dolls and was a wonderful help to Mom in making Laura and Katie's dolls!

New Quilts and Crocheted Hats!

Our little knitters have been learning some new skills with their first three quilts!  Nana has come to work with us on Fridays on the new blankets.  We have several more on the way!

Jacob's first

Noel's first quilt
We also have been practicing our new crocheting skills on most of our new hats.  We have found that we have a lot more freedom to be creative in the designs and sizes when we crochet instead of using the knitting looms!

 MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We have finally finished our Christmas hats!  Our hope is that we might be able to brighten the day for some of these families who have a baby in the nicu this Christmas.  We learned some new stitches this month and had a lot of fun coming up with new designs.  To see all of our hats, please visit our Christmas page on our other blog, Tucky Ducky Hats.

We would love to pray for you and your baby this Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Please send us an e-mail at tuckyduckymail@gmail.com.to let us know how we can pray for you and your baby.

Thanksgiving

We spent this Thanksgiving at our grandparents house, enjoying games, knitting, paper-making, leather crafts, and getting our fill of pies, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and of course, Papi's smoked turkey.
Grandma (Baba) taught us some basic crochet stitches, which we were eager to practice!  Laura is working on her first crocheted blanket, and Mom learned how to crochet little flowers to add to hats.

We are so thankful for our many blessings!  Among them is the opportunity to offer hope and love to the little babies in the nicu and their families.

Delivery Day!

We delivered our first 33 hats today with gift bags today!  It was fun to see some of Katie's nurses who hadn't seen her since she had left the nicu.  We also saw a nurse who had taken care of Laura and Jacob at another local nicu 8 years ago!  But, the biggest surprise was running into the mom of Katie's first roommate at the nicu.  Her little girl is doing well and now she has another baby in the nicu!   It was great fun to catch up.

We plan to return with our Christmas Delivery in a few weeks.  In the mean time we will be very busy knitting!
